Sloth

Categories: [Americas]  [Animal]  [Costa Rica]
Some mammals living in the forest are more peaceful than the ape depicted in last post.
This sloth spends most of its days idling on a branch. Indeed it mainly eats leaves which are very poor in calories forbidding it to dispense too much energy. Sloths go to the ground to urinate and defecate about once a week, becoming much vulnerable to predators as they move very slowly.
Quite a fascinating species!
