Cradle of Democracy

On this place the Ancient Greeks once invented an egalitarian form of government they chose to call "δημοκρατία" (Demokratia).
In front of me lies the famous Acropolis of Athens, but it was a religious center. Democracy was invented on the hill I'm standing on: the Areopagus, where the Council of the Elders gathered way before the 5th century BC.
