Hagia Sophia

Categories: [Architecture]  [Europe]  [Turkey]
"Hagia Sophia", was completed in 537 and was the largest Christian building of the world, for nearly one thousand years until the completion of the Seville Cathedral in 1520! It is indeed massive, and the walls sustaining the dome are huge.
The four minarets were added after the fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire, when Hagia Sophia was converted into a mosque.
