Vaux le Vicomte

"Vaux Le Vicomte", located 50km away from Paris, was one of the most influential Château of the 17th century.
Indeed, when king Louis XIV was invited there for a "fête", he realized that even he didn't possess such a finest palace.
Soon the owner, Nicolas Fouquet, was arrested and the king hired the architect, the painter-decorator and the landscape-architect of Vaux to design and build his next palace : Versailles.

Twenty years later Nicolas Fouquet died in prison.
